NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)

Rajdhani college has two well established companies of more than 300 cadets, enrolled in the National Cade corps for both girls and boys wings. There are two companies viz 7 Delhi Girls Batallion senior wing (7DGBN - SW) for girls cadets and 6 Delhi Batallion senior division (6DBN - SD) for boys cadets. The Principal, Prof Rajesh Giri is the chief Patron of both wings of NCC. Col. Gurpreet Singh is the commanding officer and Lt Dr Divya Singh is the Associate NCC Officer (ANO) of senior wing whereas Lt. Col. Mukesh Kumar and Lt Harish Kumar are their counterparts of senior division.

The NCC is a responsive, learning and continuously evolving organization. It encourages cadets to have a sense of patriotic commitment, to contribute to national development, respect for diversities in religion, language, culture, ethnicity, life style and habitat. To instill a sense of national unity, social cohesion, ability to participate in community development and other social programmes. The ‘Aims’ of the NCC laid out in 1988 have stood the test of time and continue to meet the requirements expected of it in the current socio–economic scenario of the country. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces. NCC exposes cadets to a regimented way of life which is essential for inculcating the values of discipline, dutifulness, punctuality, orderliness, smartness, respect for rightful authority, good and correct work ethos and self-confidence. The National Cadet Corps is a youth development movement. It has enormous potential for nation building. The NCC provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development with a sense of Duty, Commitment, Dedication, Discipline and Moral Values so that they become able leaders and useful citizens. The NCC provides exposure to the cadets in a wide range of activities, with a distinct emphasis on Social Services, Discipline and Adventure Training. The NCC is open to all regular students of the colleges on a voluntary basis.

NCC Curriculum: NCC is a three years course at graduate level and successful completion of this awards cadets with C certificate which has specific incentives in different government job sectors. National Cadet Corps organises training camps for students in rural and urban areas. As per policy 50% of the enrolled strength is to take part ink such Annual Camps. During these camps, the students get an opportunity to live and work with other students in a hostel environment. Students who have not got opportunity for community living, enjoy these camps the most. The some of the types of camps organised by the NCC Directorate Delhi are as under
