Financial Support Initiatives

Rajdhani College provides merit- and need-based financial assistance to deserving students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, based on annual family income, socio-economic background, academic performance, and other relevant criteria. At present, the college implements two financial support schemes, namely the Fee Concession Scheme and the Student Aid Fund Scheme, which are administered by the respective committees.

 

Fee Concession Committee

The Fee Concession Committee provides full and partial financial support to students facing economic difficulties by considering their academic performance, annual family income, and socio-economic background. The process of evaluation and distribution of fee concession benefits is entirely transparent. This scheme aims to promote student welfare and ensure continuity in education.
For the academic year 2025–26, a total of 152 applications for fee concession were received, out of which 135 applicants appeared for the interview/discussion session.
After careful consideration, 22 students were found eligible for a partial fee concession of ₹5,000 each, based on their annual family income and the occupation of the family head. In addition, one physically handicapped (PH) student was found eligible for a full fee waiver.

 

Student Aid Fund Committee

The Student Aid Fund Committee provide financial assistance to students facing economic difficulties, taking into account their academic performance, annual family income, and socio-economic background. Applications are evaluated by the Student Aid Fund Committee through a defined, transparent process. The scheme facilitates continuity of education and student welfare. 

During the academic year 2025–26, the Committee received a total of 279 applications from students. A total of 121 students were selected for financial assistance, of which 45 were under the Special Category and 76 under the General Category. Financial assistance of ₹6,000 was provided to students in the Special Category, while ₹5,000 was provided to students in the General Category.

 

Scholarship to SC/ST Students

These scholarships are awarded by the Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi, to bonafide Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Students belonging to Delhi, on receipt of completed applications submitted through the college. 

 

Awards and Prizes

All India Entrance Scholarship 

Delhi University holds a competitive examination in the month of October each year for the award for All India Entrance Scholarships of Rs. 250.00 per month, each tenable for three years. Any Honours course Student with at least 55% marks in the aggregate may apply along with the examination fees of Rs. 50.00 latest by 25 August in the prescribed form which can be obtained from the Examination Branch VII(I) of the University of Delhi.

 

Dr. S. S. Rao Memorial Prize in Physics 

The Prize has been instituted in the memory of Dr. Surendra Singh Rao,Formerly Reader in Physics Department, Rajdhani College. Dr. S. S. Rao Memorial Prize of Rs. 1,000/- is awarded to a student of B.Sc. (H) Physics IIIrd year topper of Rajdhani College for exemplary merit.

 

Dr. Sanjay Malik Memorial Award

An amount of Rs 3,000 is paid to first meritorious student of B.Sc. (H) Physics IInd year in memory of late Dr. Sanjay Malik, Associate Professor Department of Physics and Electronics.

 

Dr. N. K. Anand Memorial Prize in Chemistry

The Prize has been instituted in the memory of Dr. N. K. Anand, formerly Reader in Chemistry Department, Rajdhani College. Dr. N. K. Anand Memorial Prize of Rs. 800/ - is awarded to the topper of B.Sc. (H) Chemistry IInd year of Rajdhani College.

 

Shri Sultan Chand & Co. Memorial Scholarship in Commerce

It is meant for topper students of B. Com. (H) IInd year and IIIrd Year of Rs. 3,000/- each. 

 

Smt. Krishnawati Gautam Memorial Prize in B.Sc.

Smt. Krishnawati Gautam Memorial Prize of Rs. 3,100/- has been instituted to encourage meritorious performance of topper of B. Sc. (Physical Science) I and II year combined in science stream.

 

Shri S. C. Gautam Memorial Prize in Chemistry

Shri S. C. Gautam Memoirial Prize of Rs. 4,100/- in Chemistry would be awarded to the topper of B. Sc. (H) Chemistry I and II year combined in Rajdhani College in DU examination.

 

Smt. Radhika and Rama Shankar Shukla Memorial Prize of Rs. 1,000/ - is awarded to the topper of B.Sc. (Physical Science Computer Science) IIIrd year of Rajdhani College.

 

Shri Shiv Nandan Sharma Memorial Prize : of Rs. 2,000/- is awarded to the topper of B.A. (Hons.) Hindi Ist year of Rajdhani College.

 

नत नयन पुरस्कार for B.A. Prog. IIIrd Year Student

Annual Prize of Rs. 5000/- every year for Blind Student for the highest marks in B.A. Prog. Final Year.

 

Maa Murti Devi Smriti Puraskar in Hindi

Maa Murti Devi Smriti Puraskar is offered to the topper of B. A. (H) Hindi IIIrd Year of Rs. 3000/-

 

Pujya Shri Ram Chander Smriti Puraskar

Annual Prize of Rs. 3000/- every year for the highest marks in M.A. Hindi Final Year.

 

Lala Chandgi Ram Jindal Memorial Prize & Smt. Bharpai Devi Memorial Prize

Annual Prize of Rs. 5000/- each to two students of B.Com (Hons) Ist year for scoring highest marks from EWS/OBC/SC/ST Category.

 

Mrs. Chanderkanta and Mr. Ram Krishan Chugh Memorial Prize

Annual Prize of Rs. 15,500/- each to two students of B.Sc. (Hons) Electronics 2nd year & 3rd  topper who wil be scoring minimum CGPA of 7 & above.

 

Dr. N.C. Gupta Annual Memorial Prize

Annual Prize of Rs. 5,000/- to student of B.Sc. (APS) Industrial Chemistry 2nd year topper.

 

Dr. Devender Kumar Memorial Prize

Annual Prize of Rs. 5,000/- each to students of B.A. (H) Economics Ist year & IInd year topper.

 

Shri Bal Mukund Gupta Memorial Prize

Annual Prize of Rs.7,000/- Toper of B.Sc Hons Chemistry II Year.
